Stephen Kryska of Boulder died on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Boulder Community Health. A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M., followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 1:40 P.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 South Boulder Road in Boulder on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Burial will follow the Mass at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery. A reception will be held following the service. He was born November 27, 1939 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Steve C. Kryska and Florence A. Skiera. He was the oldest child with three siblings, Joseph Kryska, Barbara Botzen, and Christina Blenc. Their ancestors emigrated from the Polish villages of Lanieta, Lobzenica, and Zelgno. His family tree is recorded on the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) database. Stephen earned two associate degrees from Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he worked as a computer operator and part-time programming language instructor. He earned a BSBA degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He served in the United States Air Force as a graphic artist, earning the title, "Airman of the Quarter" while stationed in Ankara, Turkey. After his honorable discharge he was occupied for several years in the advertising field, changing careers and retiring as an Information Technologist. His avocation was creative composition, including screenplays and the poetic fantasy," Rime of the Modern Mariner: an American Odyssey." A section in his book includes his biography. He met Jane Meyer while working at The Commission on Professional and Hospital Activities (CPHA) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He married her in 1976 in Joplin, Missouri. Stephen is survived by his wife Jane of Boulder, their daughter Emily, and son Clark of Longmont, sister & brother-in-law, Christina & Kenneth Blenc of Harrison Township, MI, and brother & sister-in-law Joseph & Mary of Grand Blanc, MI. He was preceded in death by one sister Barbara Botzen Contributions, Sacred Heart of Jesus School Foundation, 2312 14th Street, Boulder, Colorado 80304
