Rose Ann Fisher, 78, of Boulder, joined our Lord Sunday, August 25, after a brief battle with cancer.
A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 4 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 3300 Table Mesa Dr., Boulder. It will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Joseph Tran at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
Rose Ann was born on February 8, 1935 at home in Lansing, IL. She was the daughter of John Paul Genovese and Doris June Mitchell Genovese.
She married Ronald M. Fisher on April 16, 1955 at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Hebron, IN. They moved to Boulder in 1959.
Rose Ann was the first Miss Valparaiso of Valparaiso, IN in the 1954 Miss America Contest and was runner up for Miss Indiana. She worked for the JC Penny Company for 30 years and was a Senior Merchandise Manager for the various departments during her time with the company.
After retirement, Rose Ann enjoyed gardening, bridge, knitting, reading, her church, travel and time with her family. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ron, her daughters Jennifer Thompson (Reed) - Broomfield, CO, Claudette Fisher-Johnson (Ridgely) - London, UK, Hilary Langston (Mark) - Broomfield, CO, Priscilla Madden (Patrick) - Boulder, CO and her only son, Brian - Boulder, CO, as well as her 8 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
