Patricia R. Monette of Lafayette CO. died at home on July 4, 2016 from complications of COPD. She was 75 years old.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 S Boulder Rd, Boulder, CO 80303, Burial will take in the church cemetery following the mass. A reception will follow at the church.
She was born in August 22, 1940, in Burke, NY, the oldest daughter of Arthur Xavier Raymond and Edna Florence Shanty. She graduated from SUNY - Plattsburg, NY with a degree in Education and taught high school Home Economics in Rotterdam, NY.
She married Clifford Monette in Saratoga Springs, NY on Feb. 4, 1967 and relocated to Colorado where she continued teaching at Boulder High School. She left teaching to raise a family and then returned as a substitute throughout Boulder Valley Schools.
She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a lifelong and active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she held several local and state leadership positions assisting our veterans.
She is survived by her husband, and their 3 children, Russell (Laurie) of Mullen, Nebraska, Daniel (Tara) of Lake Mary, Florida, and Lisa of Parker, CO. along with 8 grandsons and one granddaughter.
She is also survived by brothers Paul (Sue-Lynn) of Oswego, NY, Kevin (Susan) of San Jose, CA and sisters, Joanne Royal (John) of Corinth, NY and Ethel Wood of Malone, NY.
Her hobbies included volunteering for children's groups, her greenhouse flowers, and bird watching. She was never without a good book or an open Kindle. Spending time with her family, and watching her grandkids grow were always highlights.
