Marguerite A. Cole, an 80 year resident of Boulder, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at TRU Community Care in Louisville. She was 95.
An open house in celebration of Marguerite’s life will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at 163 Garfield Lane, Erie. 80516.
Marguerite was born January 25, 1920 to James and Mary Ethel (Harrelson) Ardrey of Whiteville, North Carolina. She later moved to Boulder, CO were she attended the University of Colorado.
Marguerite married John Burnett Cole of Boulder on March 15, 1941. They were married 58 years until his passing in 1999.
Marguerite worked as a bookkeeper, retail store manager, and payroll clerk. However, the majority of Marguerite’s career was spent as a housewife and a mother, at which she excelled.
Marguerite enjoyed backyard bird-watching and had an extensive collection of ceramic birds. She was an avid reader and loved to play Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit.
Marguerite is survived by her sister Lydia Brines of Longmont, CO; her sister-in-law Rose Cole Shepherd of Louisville, CO; her son John Cole Jr. of Austin, TX; four daughters, Karen (Bob) Lawson of Erie, CO, Cynthia (John) Scott of Port Orchard, WA, Mary Cole of Boulder, CO and Judith Cole of Arvada, CO. She had ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
