Magdalene J. Romano, of Louisville, died Friday, December 12, 2014 in Boulder. She was 96.
A Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 715 Cabrini Dr. Lafayette at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, with the Rosary to begin at 12:15 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. followed by a reception at the church. Graveside services will be held at the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery in Boulder.
Magdalene was born near Niwot Road on June 7, 1918 to Anton Fladung and Agatha Albert. She graduated from Longmont High School and attended school at Mount Saint Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas. She married the love of her life, Albert T. Romano on December 13, 1942 in Lafayette. She formally worked at the Boulder Daily Camera, Colacci’s Restaurant and the University of Colorado. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette. She is leaving behind members of the Neocatechumenal Way where she enjoyed many years of her spiritual life-giving community. Her community has helped her prepare for her final years with purpose and love of friendships that she had established in her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Romano in 2000 and Grandson Mark Romano in 2011. Survivors include, sons: Anthony Romano, of Lakewood; Theodore (Debora) Romano, of Cheyenne, WY; Daughter: Sharon (Art) Sibayan, of Denver and her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
