Grant Blaney Von Letkemann, 78, passed away March 26, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.
Grant was honest, hard-working, a loving husband, a proud parent and grandparent.
Grant was born June 5, 1939, to Herkus W. Von Letkemann and Jessie (Blaney) Von Letkemann in Washington, D.C. He grew up in Greenbelt, Maryland; Sherman, Texas and Swampscott, Massachusetts, graduating from Swampscott High School in 1957.
He attended the United States Naval Academy and enlisted in the Navy Reserve. After graduating from the Navy’s submarine school in New London, Connecticut, he served as a torpedoman on the USS

Grant attended the Boulder and Denver campuses of the University of Colorado and worked as a patrolman for the University Police Department. He married Jane Stitt in June of 1966. He retired from IBM in Boulder after 25 years.
He enjoyed shooting sports and hunting and served for 26 years as president of the Boulder Rifle Club.
Grant is survived by his wife, Jane of Boulder; son, Grant (Kelly) Von Letkemann II of Westminster; daughter, Heather Buie of Hoffman, North Carolina; brother, Herkus W. Von Letkemann II of Great Neck, New York; and three grandchildren, Emily, Benjamin and Nathaniel. He was preceded in death by his sister Elissa deWitt Power.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, April 12, at 12:30 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80236, Staging Area B. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
