Glen Gatlin Jr. passed away peacefully November 21st, 2024 at his home in Golden, CO. He was 61. Born October 25th, 1963 in Dallas, TX, Glen was the son of Glen Gatlin, Sr. and Virginia Brison Gatlin. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School (1981), he earned B.A. degrees in Art and Economics from the University of Texas Dallas, followed by a master’s in Account Management from UT Austin.
Glen’s career spanned both finance and auto racing. He held leadership roles at UBS Paine Webber, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley before pursuing his passion as a professional race car driver and coach with the Porsche Club of America, racing in the IMSA GT3 Challenge and Grand AM Series-GT. And Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. He retired from a successful role as a Senior Vice President role at Merrill Lynch in 2023.
Glen’s adventurous spirit shone brightly. Soon after moving to Colorado, Glen met Justine Park. They raised Glen's Grandson, Braxton, as their own child, celebrating their unique family.
His passions included golf, mountain adventures, and cheering for the Raiders—even from Bronco Country. Glen’s friends recall his unwavering kindness, competitive spirit, and zest for life, often reflected by his bright-blue McLaren and his playful bets on the golf course, always followed by a celebratory toast.
Preceded in death by his son Preston, Glen is survived by Justine, his children Glen Harrison, Skye, Jordan, Mikayla, God daughter Savannah Beck and grandchildren Braxton, Brexley, Rylee, Kylee, Sophie, and Sofiya. His family recently gathered in San Diego, creating cherished memories that will endure.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 8th, 4:00-7:00 PM, at the Omni Interlocken Golf Club, 800 Eldorado Blvd, Broomfield, CO, 80021, with a reflection at 5:30 PM. Glen will be laid to rest at 11:00 AM, on December 11th at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75081.
