Francis “Bud” Eugene Luethi passed away in Boulder, CO on October 4th, 2017. He was 86.
A lifelong Coloradoan, Bud was born May 10th, 1931 in Denver, CO to parents Francis Eugene Luethi and Betha Davis Luethi. After graduating from Brush High School, he earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict, and in June of 1956, married Geraldine Gant Luethi in Boulder. As life progressed, he worked for Beech Aircraft and Ball Bros., and was the owner of Flagstaff Publishing, which specialized in the publication of handbell music, a passion of his that he shared with Gerry. The two enjoyed local farming and travel together. They explored the U.S. extensively, and relished adventures abroad.
Bud is survived by his wife, Gerry Luethi of Boulder, CO; his son, Scott E. Luethi of Boulder, CO; his daughters, Carol Melberg (John) of Catoosa, OK, and Leslie Cutler (Jamie) of Waukee, IA; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church (685 Inca Parkway, Boulder, CO 80303) on Sunday, November 5th, 2017 at 9:30AM.
A funeral including a Ceremony of Military Honors, performed by the United States Army, will take place at 11:00AM on Monday, November 6th, 2017 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Bud’s son-in-law, Reverend Jamie Cutler, will officiate.
