Among the things Lynn Post most cherished in life were her strong Christian faith and the community at St. John’s Episcopal church, her wide circle of friends in Boulder and her great love of the outdoors.
Lynn died at home Sept. 28, 2017 from ovarian cancer. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1419 Pine St., Boulder, CO 80302, the Rev. Susan Springer officiating.
Frances Lynn Post was born Dec. 3, 1944 in Gunnison, Colo. to Robert Clark Griffee and Frances Martha Gazzoli.
She graduated from La Junta High School and went on to earn a degree in liberal arts from Colorado State University in 1966.
Lynn worked as a science technician at CSU before moving to Boulder to work on the Apollo 14 project for Beech Aircraft. In 1971, she began her 14-year career with the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
In 1971 she married Madison J. Post. They later divorced.
In 1985, Lynn took a position as membership director for the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, where she loved working with businesses of every size, from mom-and-pop operations to large corporations.
In 1992 she became a sales representative for the South Metro Chamber of Commerce, which she would recall as her favorite job. During her tenure the Colorado Business Magazine named her one of the top salespeople for the Denver Metro area.
She returned briefly to the Boulder chamber before retiring.
The outdoors gave Lynn great joy, whether she was skiing, hiking or rafting. Backpacking into the Chicago Basin in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, rafting through the Grand Canyon and a mule trip to Phantom Ranch were especially memorable adventures, and Montana became a home-away-from-home.
She also enjoyed gardening, playing piano and singing with the Rocky Mountain Chorale and Boulder Women’s Chorus.
Lynn is survived by three sisters she adored, Barbara Youngs and her husband Paul of Steamboat Springs, Kim Becker and husband Ned of Missoula, Montana, and Dianna Smith of La Junta; three nieces, Ellee and Claire Becker, and Katelyn Griffee; two nephews, Jeremy Youngs and Dane Becker; and four great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
