Faith Joanne Skibbe, 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in her Louisville home after a battle with cancer.
She was born to Elma and Jonah Seifert on September 15th, 1931 in Marion, Kansas. One of five siblings, Faith graduated from Marion (KS) High School before marrying Robert E. Skibbe on February 10th, 1953. The couple lived in Boulder, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona before settling in Louisville, Colorado in 1987. Robert preceded Faith in death on March 18, 2000, as did Jonah (1986), Elma (1988) and her sisters, Vernetta Dunn (1999) and Betty Seifert (Infant).
Faith accepted Christ as her Savior, was baptized at age thirteen, and devoted her life to Jesus through raising her family and serving within the church. She served in the church kitchen, nursery and vacation bible school, sang in the church choirs, and ministered to wives of foreign national students. In addition to her employment in the card department at Leanin' Tree Publishing Company, Faith worked as church secretary for Southern Hills Baptist Church and East Boulder Baptist Church, both in Boulder, Colorado.
Survivors include her brother, Dennis Seifert, of Topeka, Kansas, her sister, Anita Weber, of Marion, Kansas, her daughter, Denise (Grant) McCurry of Superior, Colorado, her son, Michael (Beth) Skibbe, of Longmont, Colorado, and her daughter, Michelle (Bruce) Crawford of Phoenix, Arizona, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
