She graduated from Boulder High School in 1991 and Summa Cum Laude from the University of Colorado in 1995. Upon college graduation Liz moved to Houston Texas where she met her husband, David LeRoux. They married in 1998 and later divorced. After the divorce, she moved back to Boulder for the remainder of her life.
Throughout her life, Liz fought courageously against the ravages of an eating disorder persevering until her death. Despite her own challenges and the immense struggles of her life
,
Liz loved life and found enjoyment in friends, family and the beauty of the world around her. Her infectious smile and bright eyes brought joy to all who knew her. Liz not only shared whatever material goods she had, but also her love and friendship to those who crossed her path.
Her internal beauty and all love for all were hallmarks of her life.
Liz was an active volunteer at community tables and soup kitchens serving meals for the unhoused in our community. She never met a member of that community in need that she did not give a bus pass, a bottle of water or some of the little money she had. Her fervent goal was to share her story about anorexia and bulimia and to be a beacon of hope for those with similar struggles. To that end, there were times in her short life when she was able to do so.
She was also one of the first apprentices for Infinitely Simple, a social enterprise devoted to supporting those with mental health challenges regain their lives and reenter into the work force. Liz’s illness prevented her from participating fully in that endeavor but she was a salesperson extraordinaire and an inspiration to all who participate in that program
Liz was a friend to all she met but especially to her beloved sister, Jessica. They shared many grand adventures from a special time in London, waterskiing at Lake Webster in Indiana, and building forts in the backyard. Despite the challenges of her ongoing illness, she lived life to its fullest.
Liz is survived by her loving parents, Bill and Anne Weiher (Boulder); her beloved sister, Jessica Weiher, (Broomfield); her significant other, Doug Sarbaugh (Boulder); her uncle, Doug Wylie (Tucson , AZ); aunt and uncle, Carol and Rick Roderick (Louisville, KY); and aunt and uncle, Mark and Ellen Wylie (Bloomington, IL). She will also live forever in the hearts of her great aunts and many cousins.
There will be a memorial service, Friday, December 15
