Elizabeth Louise Rodgers, 69, passed away at her Boulder home on November 18th, 2017.
Born September 17th, 1948 in Chicago, IL to parents Raymond J. Gatz And Loretta Mary Krazniewski Gatz. Elizabeth graduated from St. Alphonsus Grammar School (Chicago) before furthering her education at Harry S. Truman College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing. In 1985, Elizabeth moved to Boulder and, shortly thereafter, began her thirty-one-year career in nursing. After twenty-four years at Boulder Community Hospital, she worked for seven years at the Mental Health Center of Boulder. Elizabeth was, at her core, a caregiver. As a young woman, she provided loving assistance to a family member suffering with multiple sclerosis. Nursing is tough, exhausting work, but on her days off, Elizabeth delightfully decompressed from the rigors of the hospital by dancing to live bands and cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs.
Her parents, Raymond and Loretta, preceded Elizabeth in death. She is survived by her son, Gerald P. Rogers, of Los Angeles, CA; her daughter, Natalie A. Rodgers, of Chicago, IL; her three brothers, Thomas A. Gatz, of Phoenix, AZ, Gerald G. Gatz, of Boulder, CO, and John H. Gatz, of Chandler, AZ; her two sisters, Nancy R. Gatz, of Portree, Isle of Skye, Scotland, and Joni M. Gatz-Bauman, of Chicago, IL. Elizabeth also loved her three wonderful grandchildren, Nathanial Pagan, Sarah E. Pagan, and Olivia Louise Nash.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and consideration.
