Edwin Poore

Edwin W. "Ed" Poore, 85, of Lafayette, Colorado died on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at TRU Hospice Care Center in Louisville. A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Cairn Christian Church, 1700 Stonehenge Dr., Lafayette, CO. Ed was born on January 20, 1928 in Conneaut, OH to Marion W. and Helen G. (McKeen) Poore. He attended Andover High School in Andover, OH. Ed received his A & E license from Parks College of Aeronautical Technology in St. Louis, MO. He married Carol Irby on September 11, 1955 in Cleveland, OH. Ed lived in Tulsa, OK before moving to Lafayette 16 years ago. Ed spent his 30 year career with Phillips Petroleum in the Transportation Department. Ed was a member of Lafayette VFW Post #1771 and TRIANDRIA Lodge #0760 F&AM Rock Creek, OH. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Occupation. Ed is survived by his wife Carol of Lafayette, CO; sons Howard "Wick" of Louisville, CO and Matthew W. of Tampa, FL; nephew Bryan Fails of Knoxville, TN; niece Anna Fails of Ft. Collins, CO; and grandchildren Micah and Zachary Poore. Ed was preceded in death by his sister Martha Poore Fails in 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
