Dorothy Louise Suthard of Louisville, Colorado, passed away on January 30, 2023, at age 93. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Dorothy’s life.
Dorothy was born in Silverton, Oregon to the late Adolph and Martha Alrick on August 21, 1929. She graduated from Silverton High School, then went on to attend Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon where she obtained a degree in nursing.
Dorothy served briefly in the Navy as a nurse before marrying Richard C. Suthard. Due to military transfers, she lived in various states, including North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, and Hawaii, before settling in Aurora, Colorado in 1970. In Colorado, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Swedish Medical Center and at Spalding Rehab before retiring to focus on her rose garden and travel.
She was known for her positive attitude and sense of humor – always choosing to see the good in life.
She is survived by her daughter Ann Suthard of Louisville, Colorado, son Richard Suthard of Gladstone Oregon, grandchild Amy Morris of Denver, Colorado, grandchild Jeffrey Morris and wife Hannah of Portland, Oregon.
She is preceded in death by her sister Donna Frisby, sister Corrine Ross and brother Keith Alrick.
