Doris R. Bennitt of Boulder, CO passed away peacefully at her residence on, Sunday, September 6, 2015. She was 84.
Doris was born October 4, 1930 to Walter Bennitt and Evelyn Stoner (Bennett) of Rolling Prairie, Indiana. She graduated from Washington High School in South Bend, IN in 1948. She shared her love for music in High School with others teaching the accordion at Gen Arts Studio.
Although Doris never went to college she took courses in order to become a licensed Real Estate Agent. Once Doris moved from South Bend she spent the majority of her career working for Bowron Builders in Boulder where she worked on building, selling and decorating homes. Towards the end of Doris’ career she worked at Hospice in Boulder where she made many friends.
Doris had a love for traveling the world. Some of her favorite trips included traveling to Alaska, Canada, Russia, visiting seven countries in Europe with her sister and various cruises.
Doris will be remembered for her kindness towards others, although she never had children, she treated her family members children as if they were her own. Doris lived a good life, she did everything her own way and traveled everywhere she wanted to go.
Doris is survived by her sister Ruth Seppey of La Porte, IN; a niece, Teri Raven of La Porte, IN and nephew Gary Seppey of New Carlisle. She is also survived by her step-brother George Early of South Bend, IN.
