Dale Allan Peterson, 78, passed away on October 21, 2015. He was born on April 8, 1937, in Albert Lea, MN to Axel Peterson and Joyce Arneson Peterson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955 and joined the Air Force in October, 1957. Dale married LaVonne Enstad on December 29, 1957.
The service in celebration of Dale’s life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 685 Inca Pkwy, Boulder, CO 80303. A luncheon will be held following the service. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery Denver.
After serving 4 years in the Air Force, Dale began working at IBM in Rochester, MN. His career as a graphic designer with IBM continued for 33 years with positions in Boulder and Boca Raton, FL.
Dale belonged to the Rocky Mountain Triumph Club and participated in many of the events they held throughout the year. He took pleasure in his Triumph TR4 which he purchased new in Minneapolis in 1962.
His other interests were running, bicycling, skiing and sailing. For more than ten years he worked with blind skiers in the Eldora Special Recreation Program. He was also an active member of Sons of Norway, Vesterheim Lodge in Boulder.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed camping, skiing, and traveling with LaVonne and their family throughout the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, and Europe.
Dale is survived by his wife, LaVonne, his daughter Dawn, his son Bradley (Diana), his daughter Kara, his sister Marlene Nordahl (Roger) and three grandchildren, Holly Sargent, Isaac Sargent, and Sean Peterson (Paola).
Dale and LaVonne have been members of Atonment Lutheran Church in Boulder for 33 years.
