Charles "Chuck" Franklin Senkier, 88, of Broomfield, formerly of Boulder, died March 11, 2014 surrounded by family. He was born March 3, 1926 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Charles Joseph and Edith Webb Senkier. He is survived by his wife, Jean Walsh and seven children, Charles (Lynn), Suzan (Russell) Ockey, Michael, Christopher, David (Carol), Ellen (Shaun) Sullivan, John (Kathrin); fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grand children. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen.
Following Chuck's graduation from Poughkeepsie HS, he served in the Army Air Forces during WWII. Upon returning home he attended and graduated from Seton Hall University. He and Jean married June 3, 1950 and were married for over 63 years.
Chuck held many management positions during his 34 year career with IBM, including an international assignment in Sydney, Australia, retiring as Procurement Manager for IBM, Boulder. In his career and personal life he and Jean traveled the world, yet always called Colorado home.
Chuck believed in education, and provided his children the opportunity to further theirs. He loved music from Dixieland jazz to opera; good food, cooking and wine. He was a golfer, tennis player, avid reader, and loved spending time with family showing them the beauty of Colorado's climate and mountains. A Celebration of Chuck's Life will be forthcoming. Memorial contributions in his name can be made to TRU Hospice Care Center, 1855 Plaza Dr., Louisville, CO.
